cant flash dreambox 500hd help please

hi trying to flash 500hd tried using web page when i enter the ip of the box i just get the web interface where i can change channels
switched box off held the power button back on and gives me my ip addy but just get the above.
also tried dream up with ethernet connected to my comtrend plug and connected to box but still nothing
doing my head in now being trying for hours.
ive just tried it with installing the mini usb drivers connects now to dream up but when i try to install dream elite or gemini image
it comes up with error ?
