Passion - how do you record the timeshift buffer?

i had bbc hd on today, and wasn't recording something i later thought it would have been nice to have done, so i rewound and started playing the timeshift buffer back thinking i would have been able to have hit record and it would have recorded the buffer plus the realtime prog.

but hitting record did nothing, i had to press stop, and then press record again, but by doing that it only started recording from that point on live tv, and the timeshift buffer was deleted.

is it possible to do???
