BADR 4 26 east reception

Has anybody tried to move the satellite setting from 26 to 25.8 or 26.2 and see if you get a stronger signal, if you do then keep going to 25.6 or 26.4 ?

I changed mine from 26 to 25.8 then 25.6 and got a stronger signal.

Try it, if no good, then go back to 26.

Made new feedhorn for IBU, as a result got lock on additional 6 transponders. This time they belong to Badr6&7. All together 27 lockable transponders. Monitored signal level of 10971V from Badr7, of course it is changing over 24hours but never lost the lock.

I get some frequencies on 7 west mid-evening on a 1.2m dish in central Scotland.
Try Qatar on 10719 V
DVB-S2/QPSK
MPEG-4 22000 3/4
as the best quality signal to lock on.

Today, I've locked 2 transponders from Badr5 West-Africa beam. All channels on 12265H are locked but 12284V has only FTA channels. Will monitor those 2 TPs for longer period of time to see the daily changes of the levels.
Reception is done on 4.6m antenna, already decorated for X-mas time

Would surely help to know exactly where in the world you are situated?
Apologies if I have missed something here!
(Mind, with 4.6M dish = MASSIVE - guess you could pick up Tata TV in India too?)

Have you tried Eutelsat 25B at 25.5 east ?

It will be very interesting to see if you can get anything from that.

Try 11623 v 27500.

I have already tried 25.5*E some time ago with no success. Found another 2 transponders @26*E. 12207V (nothing to show) and 12245V with couple of channels in HD quality, like this with the video-bitrate > than 13000 kb/s

Where did you get that massive dish from and how much did it cost ?

Got it from Second hand market . I did know it was not in use, so I asked whether it can be mine and they said "Why not?!"
Actually, if you are after same dish I know where is one for sale in Riga. The only difference, it has no actuators and no heating system. I do not know the price. For sure it will cost you less than dismantle and transportation activities.

Have you ever tried to get the Israeli channels on 4 west ?

I know its a long way round from 26 east but it would be interesting if you could get the signal.

Even if I have installed antenna year ago, motors are still not operational, so I did not experiment a lot with the reception. When I get motors ready, will go through visible ark and see what I can get there.
