    Motorized dish installers in E s s e x/Uttlesford? Anybody left?

    Hi,

I have had a motorized dish for someting like 12 years. Servicing it every couple of years or so. It's been 3 years since last time. It deperately needs realignment.

I have called something like 20 or more people... and nobody seems to do motorized dish (realignment) anymore. "Too complicated, mate. There are other soultions out there for foreign channeles...".

I also have IPTV with my Hitechbox HB9000.

But I would love to have my dish realigned.

Anyone knows of an engineer still doing motorized dish realignment in the E s s ex/Uttlesford area?

    Thanks.

It all depends where your dish is sited, if at ground level it's quite easy, but time consuming, to get it tracking the satellite arc precisely.
It's so much easier, thus quicker, to install a fixed dish, especially if you're just doing a sky installation.
Quicker equates to more money, for less work.

    Not on the ground.

On the rear wall of a house, above the roof... long ladder needed.

    Thanks..

Which explains why basic sky installers won't touch it.
If it was ground based I would have advised you do it yourself, but not when it's above roof level, and requires long ladders.
    Good luck finding someone.

Have you tried an internet search for a motorized satellite dish installer?

Have you also thought about the costs ? Because you will be looking at about a bill for 250£ for the 2 hours that the man is there. ?
    Good luck though.

Yes, I did try Google. None of the 20 or more I called would do it.

upload a picture from your phone or tablet if u have one of your dish showing how high it is and a closer pic of dish/motor
if your motor is an old Stab motor from 12 years ago good chance the bearings are shot they require grease every year and even at that old Stab motors were always dead slow and die due to cheap sh1t bearings inside them .
A Proper fix would be remove the motor with a new Disecq motor and align the dish on a new motor which would be far less likely to fail after a few days/weeks .
All that being said probably looking at a minimum £150+ even more but @ Pilsner i imagine since he is obviously very experienced would be very fair and decent with you .
just upload pictures i am certain 99% of members here will very quickly tell you what dish/motor you do have just looking at some pics it'll help a lot knowing what situation is whether its a quick fix or a definite new motor job for sure : )

    Thanks guys.

I will try to upload some pics, and I will also try to find any paperwork related to the motor (it is not the original one, as it had to be replaced... maybe 6 years ago?).

    Maybe this evening.

Aplogies for the delays... and thanks for tour quick replies!

I am afraid I have not been able to find any info/do***entation about the motor.

Neither the original one from 2009, nor the replacement one some 6 years ago.

Ah, the QAD LNB was also replaced, around 2013, I think.

And finally (apologies for the delay) some pics:

Looks like a Technomate TM2600 or 1 of the clones of it.

    Just a normal diseqc motor.

Man i wished i lived somewhere close by i would for sure love to do this job ,
its not a Technomate TM2600 motor Cokeaddict .... i'd say very likely TM2300 motor as TM2600 motors are really not that old , but old enough i guess to not be available no more but that is due to sheer demand not age i reckon .. damn its in fine shape i take back all what i said about changing the motor .
on the last pic of the three the elevation looks very low to me and makes sense if it got a bit of battering from strong wind ,
But really that is not so high not much more than may be 16 or 17ft if even and i know my ladder would easily reach that no problem .
its no more than a 15-20min job to get that dish aligned perfectly again should be an installers dream if ever i saw one
looks to me like could be just an 85cm Gibertini dish ... hardly a 1 meter looking at the pics but i might be wrong but i do'nt really think so ?? The arm clearly shows us its definite NOT a Triax Dish that is for sure.

the guy can sit on the roof as he tweaks - lovely
    Nailed it :respect-063:
