What Ekko star says is true and not Bollocks..
NO idea where he got the info ! but, what he say is Correct.
Duo2 will be in before End OF MAY.This is Last news from Suppler VU + i hope they do not fail in dates like always they do.
The real date of release no one know even Distributors.. Because is Shipments issue. Prices i know from 3 months ago..but to be honest i have complain about it. Idid not like that policy of prices ,We are trying push VU+ to go cheaper and not follow the Dreambox style...
Ah i hope next time Vu Plus - Maurys not listen Black Hole Team or developers and some people has no idea about Distributional Market for prices...if is for them Vu Plus Duo2 should be 1000 pound today..
But i mean time Vu + should listen them only for Software and Images actually what is their real Job...With all Respect i have for the Team..they are the Best in the Vu Plus Image Black hole.
Maybe not straight away tomorrow, but for sure in end of this Year you will not even find one...( DUO 2 can be double twin tuners = 4 tuners that's why.)
This not mean support will stop Thats one should not be any problem.
Now depend even of any dealers if take many Ultimo's in stock and they can push selling for long they can with their stock..
I am not Fun of Ultimo too ...anyway i like to be in market long it can.
I can tell you something if was not Form Me Duo could be stoop 7 months ago. European Dealers gave them wrong advice...But because i had responsibility UK and Ireland i told them to do not stop even to my own cost...Why gave possibility Copy's and or some diferente Brands has no idea about Linux to get the market ..
Yes, the machine is being de-listed. Stocks in the current supply chain are probably the last you will see of it.
The Duo was actually also pulled earlier this year but a late production batch was re-run simply due to the popularity and demand. Unfortunately the Ultimo does not command the same level of interest to warrant a similar recall. You can never say never and VU 'may' decide to run one further production batch ( I doubt it). The Ultimo will however still continue to be supported. It's a VU product so rest assured it will be supported.
None of this should come as a surprise to anyone. New models come, old models go. The Duo2 is such a high spec machine and along with the Solo2 they simply succeed their predecessors.
Expect the Duo2 for release this month. It will be some machine.

No, it won't be £1000. The price is not fixed as yet but you are looking at perhaps half that. Possibly less so...
I think what Darkman is perhaps trying to say is that the Development teams should stick to development and not interfere in the marketing of the machine. If they had their way it would be priced at a huge premium.
No one say will be 1000 pound on market! If you see my early post i say will be maybe 120-130 euro more expensive... Definitely 100 pound more starting Solo2 prices.
I thing ( Ekko Star is right.) he explain proper my meaning. No need to misunderstand.
I thing can be from 420 pound to 450 pound I am not sure Yet...if Vu + not get Crazy.
Darkman, if this Duo2 is priced at £420-450 it will simply be a hugely successful machine! I think VU have already realised the Ultimo probably now has little commercial place in their line up.
We all know how good the Solo2 is...the Duo2 will be one hell of a serious machine for sure. Personally I think if the Solo2 is already priced at approx £300 then the Duo2 will launch in the market between £450-500.
I can see VU+ completely cleaning up at this level of the market.

If it comes in £400+ I think many potential buyers might just start thinking twice because, let's face it, many, if not most, of us CS and with that potentially dropping off, £400 on a box may just not be a sensible option any more.
£400- 500 seems reasonable from my perspective.
Never sensible but you pay for what you get!
It's a top end high performance, specialist enthusiasts machine. It'd be quite reasonably priced at £400-500.
If you compare it to the Solo2, the Duo before it and the Ultimo and any other receiver out there, there's little to suggest that's not competitvely priced.
It may not perhaps be 'sensible' for everyone but then again this level of machine is simply not aimed for everyone or ordinary satellite viewing. I'm pretty sure enthusiasts will buy it. The Solo2 was merely a teaser, this is the real deal.

400-500 £ Think thats what i paid for the duo when it was released...and i never regretted that buy...

thats exactly what i allways thought myself,,, BlackHole is the best image..:iagree:
Have seen Duo2 in Anga Cable 2013. Interesting was that other Vu+ boxes they show inside box, but duo2 was only black box with tehchnical information and no release date.

Release date rumours appear to suggest sometime in July now
spec says - Supplied with 2 DVB-S/S2 Satellite Tuners as standard (Twin Tuner)
the rear picture shows 4 inputs
so, I guess a Twin tuner has two inputs (the clue is in the name?)
