1407 not working for me on latest fw version

I must be doing somethign really stupidly wrong. I ahd it working beforem, the faffed around with other fw version etc.

Anyway, I wiped the box, and reinstalled the latest (july) firmware, and did a factory reset. all fine, except....

Now when I go into the CAS menu and enter 1407, nothing happens, no new option no plugins then from the menu.

What the heck am I doing wrong?????

    please help

was it the IRD version of firmware that you installed?

Apparently, according to the official Icecrypt supprt line, you need to get the firmware from here:
    http://satpimps.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=475
as the one from Icecrypt website does not support plugins. The Icecrypt software version starts with fac and you need IRD at the begining. Good luck! I am running 10.08.26. There is a newer one, but I have not tried it yet.

normally official firmware never allows you to access any extras , and this has been true for many boxes

therefore you get the "hacked" software from forums and patch it with that , which is why they call hacked firmware a "patch"

Thanks, I think the filename change for the patched vs original firmware was a bit too subtle for me!

I can now see the the firmware versions I need have a prefix of IRD rather than fac. Both of course have to have a suffix of .ird

Thank you, saved me many hours of further frustration!:respect-050:
