The Humax Freesat box has diseqc in a hidden menu when you add extra channels, and the the new Fortec will have CAM slot and a PVR when it's released later this year.

The Freesat spec allows boxes to have a STB mode, so we will see more dual purpose boxes out later.

You can either use the boxes in Freesat mode with the special EPG, or as a normal DVB receiver without the Freesat EPG.

i was refering to the panasonic hd tv with the built in freesat tunner, a one box soultion would be appealing to a lot, but couldnt see on any spec diseqc or ci slot

Yes, if you have a working satellite dish that you current use for UK satellite broadcasts (e.g. S*y) then you can replace your existing equipment for a Foxsat-HD

    # Can I add channels that are not available through freesat?
Yes, the Foxsat-HD has a freesat mode and a non-freesat mode. Please visit the Advanced Section for more information.

    # Can I connect it to a Multi satellite system?
The Foxsat-HD product can be used with a DiSEqC 1.0 / 2.0 switch or a DiSEqC 1.2 motorised System.

    # I have a motorised Satellite Dish, can I use it?
Yes, you can use a Motorised dish (DiSEqC 1.2 or USALS)

The big disappointment is that when ITV1-HD begins it will *only* be available on Freesat boxes (not S*y HD or any other receivers) because of the codec they are using

    From the Freesat website

"ITV HD will be a red-button service available exclusively to freesat customers, so whenever you’re watching ITV1 and an HD logo pops up at the top of your screen, just press the red button on your remote control to watch it in glorious high definition."
Interestingly the Humax FOXSAT HD box only lists "Receiving HDTV signals (MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 and MPEG-2)" which isn't what ITV HD claim they will be using !!!!

    Freedom from sky

Any service that diminishes reliance on the minge murdies service gets my vote. I dont get a very good freeview reception in my little niche. And Ive missed more stuff on four and five cos the minge wanted to charge me £20 for watching freestuff. Only £20 u might say but all that charging enables the cnut to buy into ITV, Premiere etc. his charges for soccer got him italys best tv, Basically all subs to ski are subsidising the aquisition of other networks around the world.
So I for one shall willingly buy into Freesat.

passion hd stb owners are the only non freesat box that can receive EPG[far as i know] it can also get ITV HD /10510,...due to new fortecstar firmware ,...its said that many more makers will follow with epg and itv hd compatible software updates,...so no worries,.dobrocop.
