Hi,

I wonder if can please help me. Shown below is the hard disk swap upgrade procedure for the DVR7000VA receiver, which I obtained from my previous searches.

Install the disk.
1. Connect with Hyperterminal baudrate to 115200 switch on machine
2. Type : initfactoryyou can see :init factory mode( test channel = 72)init factory mode( test channel = 0)>
3. Disconect and reconect the power cord
4. Type : enableyou can see :Lock Enable >
5. If it is ok, the receiver will work again.
6. After that you have to make a factory reset

I would like to know how can you transfer the recordings stored on the factory fitted hard disk in the receiver to the new upgraded hard disk? I presume that the hard disk is an IDE drive.

Is the factory fitted hard disk a normal Microsoft FAT or FAT32 disk format which can be seen by a Windows operating system (eg. XP)? If yes, I presume then it is a case of simply file copying the data across, or even using a drive image program (eg. Norton Ghost) to clone onto the upgraded hard disk.

Is there a limit to the size of the hard disk which can be used as a replacement? Users have reported a 120GB and 160GB drives which have appeared to have worked OK.

Many thanks in advance, for all the help.

With kind regards.
