Does anyone know why my Vantage won't receive BBC HD on 28 degrees east? No matter how I scan for it - PIDs, manual scan, auto scan, re-scan - I've tried everything, even input the parameters with the channel editor and although it saves the channel, all I have is a black screen with the system message "No Video/Audio signal". ITV HD is perfect and the frequencies and all the parameters are correct! Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions would be great, Thanks
It seem it cannot read the PMT.
The best you can do is to log the PMT and send it to Vntage,so they understand how to fix it.
I do find some channels that behave the same,and sometimes it just overwrite an existing one or just plain show it is saving it,and eventually doesn't.
I do not think you can fix this on your own.
What worked for me is sometimes if you use setedit,and set the channel to be kept as non-dvb/do not read pmt,it might stick. ( I don't remember what's the precise name)
Tried it in setedit m8 and that didn't work either. Most annoying isn't it? I'll send the problem to Vantage and see if they can fix it. Thanks for the reply - cheers

BBC HD is currently incorrectly broadcasting its AC3 stream with a PES ID of MPEG AUDIO which causes sound and picture problems with my VDR linux box.
I have mailed BBC about it and they haven't responded.
BBC HD 1W works fine, but schedule on it is completely different to that on 28.2E as it is not aimed at the UK market.
no not aimed at uk market but a compromise if bbc HD uk is not possible on the vantage at this time some rate content on 1w far superior to uk bbc HD me personally would not miss either one seems to work ok on the fortec and m vision I use

disruption that this has caused to your reception.
The BBC does advise viewers wanting to receive our services via satellite
either to do so using Sky or Freesat receivers. As we do not test
reception of our services on any other satellite receivers, we cannot
promise glitch-free reception on receivers not made for the Sky or Freesat
platforms.
Nevertheless we do aim to comply with recognised broadcast standards such
as those from the DVB and we can confirm that our current broadcasts are
not compliant in the way that you have indicated. You are correct that Sky
and Freesat receivers are agnostic to this particular signalling and that
is why this was not picked up in our testing of our coders following a
recent upgrade.
We are working with our system suppliers and will aim to correct this
signalling as soon as possible. However unfortunately this will not be
until the new year as we are heading into the Christmas 'lockdown' where we
make no changes to our platforms to ensure they remain stable.
Yes works fine on 1W and on Passion but it SHOULD work fine on Vantage? Yet another pain in the ass with this potentially brilliant receiver. yawn
