diseqc switch are they all the same

need to buy a new diseqc switch a 4way type. there are many out there they vary from 6 to 20 pounds, if got a global 2way a the moment and works great ,but the 4way global is around the 18 pound mark ,should i go for the cheap one for 6 pound and do they work as well as the global type

Dont get Global as nearly all the ones I fitted had to be changed Orbital is the most reliable I fit

I've got two Global 4x1's and a 2x1 all working perfectly. There was a problem with the first but it turned out to be the STB - a STB s/w update fixed it.

I have a cheapy 4x1 and that works well but the input designation is different to the Globals and it needs an waterproof box to house it (the Globals already have a waterproof case).

I have 3 4x1's at the moment, Vialuna, Bluestar & Golden interstar, all work perfectly with Darkbox and Technomate 1500+, all around the 5 quid mark (all came with waterproof case). Had a Technomate until a couple of months ago and failed because the male F connectors were loose in the housing, too much flexing allowed on the cables. Had A.N.Other which was Diseqc 2.0 but wouldn't work under Diseqc 1.0 or 1.2 (as mentioned in your other post).
Had Global but can't see why I should pay a premium when the others work for me.
