HD 200 High def converting
Been experimenting to try to convert recorded HD files so they can be played on pc.
1st install a program called 'DGAVCIndex'
run and open file. above open where it says 'All AVC Files' click open 'All Files' next click on the HD recording (eg 'file.001 .002 etc.) on file list click ok. click file then click 'save project and demux'
When done you should have 3 files.
'???.demuxed.264'
'???.dga'
'???.PID 285 3_2ch 384Kbps DELAY ????'
close program.
next open 'tsMuxeR'
click add and add the ???.demuxed.264' and '???.PID 285 3_2ch 384Kbps DELAY???' files.
Then click 'start muxing' this will create a file named '???.demuxed.ts'
this file should be then playable in VLC media player.
Sadly the sound is always out of sync. I'm trying to find a way to fix this. any ideas?

VLC is probably the worst player for H2.64/AVC
You should use a media player that can use third party codecs, CoreAVC is probably the best H2.64/AVC codec as it has the lowest CPU usage
If your PC is struggling this could very well be the cause of the audio sync problems especially using VLC, a good media player and CoreAVC would probably solve both

Thanks will give it a try, but I think the DGAVCIndex program is adding the delay, when it splits the video and audio files will try and find how to stop this.

DGAVCIndex should only add the correct delay thats why it gives the delay in the file name
Everyone who tries to playback hd content on their pc runs into this problem

thanks for your help. sorted the sound problem out, I entered the sound delay from the audio file name, into the general track options in TsmuxeR and the sound now plays in sync with the video.

just finished converting shrek3 recorded from C+ HD 1920 x 1080, playing in Windows Media Player using CoreAVC Video Decoder, plays great. Video is split into 5 files as recorded from HD200. sync in first 3 files is spot on, last 2 files sound sync is out a fraction of a second, due I think to the original recording being out.

My preferred media players are "The Core Media Player" or "Zoom Player"
If you install "AC3 Filter" and use that codec for the audio it has an option to sync the audio in real time and shows the ms of the audio as you adjust it, worth installing anyway for the audio as its highly configurable for any setup

Is there any way of burning these HD200 recordings to disc so that they play in a normal DVD player?

I think it is possible. All you need is a good Audio/Video converter such as SUPER v2008.build33.
