    This is not the first time I have come across stuff about Monster Cables throwing their weight around. They have also had a go at Blue Jeans Cable in the US (who make great video cables btw, got one) and they hit back with a wonderful response, see this link:

    The upshot is, if you are the market for a/v cables, think twice before giving Monster any business - they make overpriced crap anyway, so not a difficult decision...

    I've just bought 12 guage in wall speaker wire. I forget the offical name. It used to sell for around 50cents a foot in north america. Better then anything costing 100x the price.

    Only issue your gear has to handle 12 guage wire. A lot of consumer gear gear can't handle stuff that big.
