Free maps for garmin 250w nuvi

please can anyone show me where I may be able to download some up to date maps for Ireland, for free !

I dont know how you load your model of gps but the Garmin website has downloadable and up to date maps of UK and Ireland for Samsung.
If you extract the files from the .exe with winrar you can load the map .img files on to other units.

The only recent experience I have is of a Garmin map for Thailand that I successfully downloaded from the web. This was the 'nopain' version of the ESRI Thailand Map v.9 (current version) which is copied onto micro SD card and just pops into the unit. The 'nopain' version, as the name suggests, is very easy to install. There is no unlocking or pairing with the unit involved: the only thing you need to do is change the file name to the usual one for Garmin maps. I imagine your problem would be solved if you could find the equivalent City Explorer Europe map.
