Hi all, Iv just got a Vantage 8000t/s in the hope of using my sky subscription card but have found out in does not work with out a dragon CAM, has anyone got it to work with out one? Please help thanks in advance.

You have to use a patched FW, sound like you right now have the ORIGINAL FW
Do you know which one i'm using 02.37.01 t-o at the moment.

I'm using the 02.37.01 T-O.hdp at the moment I tried the 02.38 T-O.dlp and lost premiere so went back to the 02.37.01 T-O.hdp.
Iv been told a patch will be out in the next 3-4 months.
Original Vantage firmware is now available from the Vantage website. Version 02.40T-O
or , just use your FTP function on your vantage and download it direct to your receiver (obviously you will need to have it connected to your router for access/ftp)
ps. im using Version 02.38T-O and is still very buggy.
for example. After receiver had been on for a while it would slow to a crawl and totally lock up.
I use a diablo cam which receiver doesnt seem to like very much ...?
I have a 1TB hdd install inside it along with a custom installed cooling fan to maintain a low internal temperature.
......hope v40 sorts my problems...will know in about 20 mins , its downloading as i type this ...

well....version 2.40 caused total mayhem with my Diablo cam this time. Now when i have the cam installed , the receiver will not move the motor at the dish ....:o15:
...back to the drawing board...or back to version 2.32 it is ....

By the way,do you know how to make my harddisk WesternDigital{MyBook} of 500 G to be seen by Vantage through eSata cable?I formated harddisk to Fat32 and partitioned in32 GB,but without succes.Only through usb cable i can seen WD in receiver.Any solution?

I'm using the 02.40t-o and have no problems but i don't have a motor and sly still doesn't work. Im thinks of getting a motor kit but have no idea whats what, can you recommend any thing?

Im using a WD greenpower 1TB internal drive in SATA mode and works ok, use vantage HDD menu to format it.

New to all this, so would be interested in knowing if you have fix for issue. I have HD 6000S and a skycard does work with FW Vantage_011802.hdp, but this is 12 months old, have not found (as yet) a newer version that does.

I have not yet found a FW that works with the card so i have got myself a diablo and dragon cam and the sky card works in both. I found that it is quicker at clearing the channels in the dragon but neither keeps the card alive which is a pain. There hasn't been a lot happening with vantage at the moment may be some one on here knows whats happening with them?
hi just thought i,d mention i use a 1tb seagate pipeline pro[SATA]
ALSO A MAXTOR 750GB [ESATA]
BOTH are seen by my Vantage 8000s also with supplied fan from vantage which just plugs straight into the main board.
Does this STB pass on the keep alive signal or do you still have to take the card out and put it in a digibox every couple of weeks?
Can anyone post up some screengrabs of the menu system, EPG and info banner when changing channels?

The 8000t/s does not keep sly cards alive I don't know about any other cards.
