I'm very happy with my TM6900, £250 + cost of a decent sized USB drive. Easy to setup and use, my kids (5 and 8) prefer it to the sly box.

Check the TM threads for more info. The Olympics looked absolutely stunning in HD BTW...

    Happy camper!

Upgraded to the TM6900 combo. Great fun with the new features. Added a Hard disc 500Gb for £60 - a bargain. Easy to install and a good menu system. Has the same menu structure as the TM1500 but is missing an RF outlet so I can't distribute the signal.

Quite a few HD channels depending on your interest. One disappointment is not with TM but DigitAlb. Got a card from Lee (great service) in Goldwafers but DigitAlb got greedy and want us to buy one of their boxes to view their HD channels. Will be thinking twice about that next season.

Anyway. So far so good with the TM6900 and good support.

    Any Hard disc!

    For Seti.

It will take pretty much any Hard Disc. Preferably a USB powered HD which I think has a max storage of 320GB. I have a Trekstor 500Gb with a separate psu. You can also use an old PC hard disc using an IDE to USB cable but they cost up to £30 quid I think. My TRekstor was £60. I think a new HD is the better option.

Check out the guys who really know about this. I was able to connect mine no problem but I know there are sometimes complications.

There's RF in and RF out M8. You don't need to use the RF out to a television or other unt.

    RF clarification on TM6900

If Dreamcatcher can confirm where the RF is on the 6900 I would be delighted. It does have Antenna in for the terrestrial signal in. The Antenna out does not perform as an RF out. However I may stand corrected and that would be good cos I need one for my small home network.

The TM6900 does not have a modulator. It just has RF loopthru for use on the DTT tuner in the TM.

I have the 6800 but I think the set up may be the same as the 6900. Have a look at the Q and A section at the back of the manual. That says that the RF output has been defaulted to PAL I and channel 40. Not that I'm using it for input or output.

Of course another option for distribution over a network is via Cat5e.

    Good news

    Thnnks Dreamcatcher.

I'll try the channel 40. What is the Cat5e option? I have a scart to RF unit but it;s proving diffucult to tune. All suggestions welcomed.

Google cat5e TV distribution M8. Would take time to explain but basically with the cable and a couple of small units you can network computers, TV and sound through the same cable. The beauty is you can uses long lengths without degradation and it's very small diameter. Buildings use it or Cat6 but you can get for home as well.
