On close inspection of the Clarke Ctech HD5000 you can clearly see a place for a SATA connector on the PCB.
Between main processor STB7100 (heatsink) and USB connector(flying cable), just up a bit & there is a 7 way surface mount place for a SATA connector.
Further proof, do a binary edit of the STB files & you will find load of OS21 sata drivers. The STMicroelectronics STB7100 (heart of receiver) does have embedded SATA.

However even though the connector is not there and possibly a few missing passive components there are no SATA drivers in the application code. So dont expect it as a feature.

Bet the Technomate 6800/6900 have the same connector placement.
