Freesat current thread on what is available

For those of you with a dedicated Freesat receiver (I have the Humax- which the sponsor is now selling)- I thought it might be an idea of what is availble in HD.
At the moment only bbc HD and I have not seen itvHD available yet either as a seperate channel that I can scan or interactive.
If you scan in freeview mode then you loose the EPG (apart from the Now/Next function).
Anyone know if the Footy match on Wednesday will be in HD or just SD?

I've seen adverts on sly that say they have exclusive HD coverage of the final, meaning exclusive to the UK probably. So if thats the case then it won't be on ITV HD. It may be on the test signal that some receivers can get but unfortunately official receivers such as your humax can't get this test signal as it is only a test signal at the moment.

I have a Bush SD Freesat receiver for £49.
Picture quality is fine, but the remote is a bit poor.
The only advantage of a Freesat box is the 7-Day EPG.

Did not see the point in spending £150 on a Freesat HD box when you can buy a Fortec Passion for same kind of money or less, and it receives a lot more than just Freesat channels.

I hear the Humax Freesat HD box has loads of bugs.

I only bought it as I do not have a HD receiver and wanted freesat HD channels without a sly card. I was under the impression that itv/ch4 HD would be available soon.

There's no mention of Ch 4 HD joining FreeSat on their web site.

It says ITV HD will be available this summer.

Ch4 HD is still under contract with sly until later this year so it could be appearing by the end of the year. ITV HD is bound to be available for the Euro Champs, I would think that will be the first main event they will show in HD. I was gonna buy a freesat humax hd box but I decided against it with the farce concerning Digit Albs HD channels now being unavailable for official subscribers. Anyway the Humax Foxsat HD PVR version should be out during this summer.

The buzz on DS is that it will be launched on 1 July at £299 with a 300GB HDD and twin tuners.

Mmmm sounds good, only a bit too expensive I think. Anyway I don't think I would be bothering to make use of the twin tuners as you'd need a twin lnb.
