The 1°w feed is only available on Sunday. Saturday there is always a test which lasts a short time. I doubt there are many willing to pay to watch the qualifying session in the cinema

F1Incinema feed is only on race day.

    ORF1 HD is next best.

These must be upscaled to HD as I didn't see any HD cameras at Silverstone.

Correct. Word on the street is that HD will be starting next year.

The BritGP race was definately broadcast in HD on the F1 InCinema feed, 720p and not upscaled. FOM have been using HD cameras for the past 2 years, so you must have seen other broadcaster's kit.

looked a bit soft to me. I think the video is upscaled to 720p but the onscreen graphics are rendered in 720p, overlayed then encoded at 18mbits

Seems like a lot of faffing about when they already have an HD source...

But the FOM guys only do a bit around the press area, pits and start line. The rest was BBC Resources (masquerading as ITV).

I suspect that Hockenheim will be sourced in HD (and downscaled to SD for sale abroad).

Tried it on a goodmans HD freesat box but audio only. OK on SS2 as usual. I thought it was 4:2:0 in sort of HD but not sure now. Anyone check with HD box please.
