    mpeg4 HD...?

so, these freesat hd boxes - are they mpeg2 hd or mpeg4 hd - forgive my ignorance, im not too up with the hd world...

but i thought everyone was waiting for mpeg4 hd boxes.....? are these now the norm when buying an hd box.

also, what if you dont get an official Freesat hd box, can u use a normal (generic) one - ie. a fortec star passion, will it have a 7 day EPG?

The epg is exclusive to the freesat boxes, all to do with the software. As for the Freesat receivers I think mpeg2 is for SD broadcasts and mpeg4 is for hd broadcasts which is in the specs for the humax foxsat hd receiver.
