Hi Yoda, the Ethernet port is used to do software updates for the player online.

Yeah I was gonna buy one (may still do at these prices) but its not multi region for standard dvd's and I have quite a few region 1. There is no region free hack for the player either.

got to go for the 69.99 for 5 extra titles, to be honest all my dvd's are region 2 so im not really bothered about the multiregion bit.

Yeah went for the full monty, that being the £69.99 with 7 hd dvd's included. I even couldn't resist Carlitos Way at £14.99. One of my favourite films of all time.

Yeah I got a few region 2 dvd's so it'll be used for upscaling them as well. Its a real steal. There trying to offload as soon as they can at this price.

True but that wasn't the main reason for it, it would have been used for extra content for hd dvds something that costs extra with blu ray

Now u tell me! Oh well I have ep30 coming and so that will have to do. Maybe there will be region free firmware soon for the ep30. Would be nice to upscale my region 1 dvd's.

Looks like they have sold out as there is no listing for the ep30 now just the ep35. No wonder at that price they were giving them away. I know that HD DVD is dead but standard DVD's are gonna be here for a while and Toshibas dvd players are well known to be the best quality upscalers out there.

Yes standard DVDs aren't going anywhere for a long time the CEO for toshiba said thats where they are going to
concentrate now on second generation dvd players he said when they've finished you shouldn't be able to tell the
difference between sd dvd and hd dvd
