help with updating my humax 5400 + perm channels

Hi all who can help me, i have just got a humax 5400 patched box from **** a month ago, a local satellite shop has just put the 90cm motorized dish up, and set it up for me,

i can get tps, fta channels, prem german but not all the prem channels, the problem is i have not got a clue how to update the humax box ??? never been shown how to !!! is it hard to do ? sat man told me to go to sat pimps web site for help !!!

i would like to get all the german prem channels back on that i lost !! i can only get prem 1,2,3,4, and sports

macro mode on startup ,on
macro mode control button ,blue
symdolize+cam activity, on

check time on first channels,all
start on first channel, off
global auto video pld, pmct
close channel list with ok button, off
send DiSEqC twice for cascade, on
CAID preselect, CARD+EMU+S
card Blocker, off
sharing protocol mode, SSSP


any help from you all would be great for my xmas !!!

HI you need Hot 9.8 to get all the channels on prem also a null modem cable
if you need more help just ask merry xmas

hi newbe,
welcome to the site, a reasonable post for info well done, but be a bit more accurate on the loader version and also include the sys id, but as i said well done in furnishing what you have.

your installer at least pointed you in the direction of a useful site to help thats for sure, as mary12 has said HI MARY also up in the help section you will find guides for most of your questions, so have a read and then if needed we can help you further

when you say lost

do you mean they are no longer in the channel list or that they no longer show a picture?

if they are not in the channel list
then use a program callled humbox with an updated channel list to download the list to your humax.

with as mary said you will need a null modem serial lead to connect your pc to your humax.

for some reason when you scan for the channels the humax doesnt recognise prem direct, films or ****o as channels and you may actually end up with some channels being deleted as well, even if you didny mean to do that.
