i realy thought this would be a linux based box when i first heard about it.

seems good but its price tag is a little high for a hd reciever with no fantastic speacial features

It is indeed in the market at a price beyond its value. I bet you, it would not out perform humax 200hdci neither would it be better than Clarke-Tech 500hd or its other 500hd combo version. I have the latter which I think is value for money at €309 and €379.00 respectively.

I suspected as much that the seller of the expected Tm HD would take advantage of the over requested appearance of TMhd in recent times and post a needless high price. You all called for this and now you must pay the price

CT 5000HD and TM 6900 should have the same
technical spec. as they are both manufactured by

So I would say the CT 5000 HD is better value for money

That also seems to be the opinion of many users on other forums. However (as far as I know) they are not available in the UK at the moment.

It is even easier and quicker to order it from this thread in Germany than buy it in the UK. There is even the option of paying for the product on delivery as I did when I got mine. See this: http://www.******-shop.de/en_index.es

Yeah, should be no problem, but what a clumsy way for a PVR to be, who the hell wants usb HDDs cluttering up the TV cabinet

no it does not have a softcam, a card reader is a card reader and that is all.

no doubt there may be provisions for new software that incorporate a softcam like the 5400 has but for that information we shall have to wait

Also you have to buy a HMDI Lead, as there is not one supplied with the receiver.

tm hd is great,..i got at a greatly reduced price,..[ a birthday present from the wife bless her] so i dont care what price it was,..i do know its better than a lot of other boxes even if its more expensive,..[havent tried CT yet,..but happy with all the tm hd can do....
