    Will not scan/receive above 11686

    Hi Dudes
I have been having a problem for quite a while with Premiere.
I have the latest Technomate official software(1.12) updated with the latest Darkman patch(2.33)

The problem is I cannot get a signal on any 19 east transponder higher than 11686. I have tried both scanning & loading channel/transponder lists.

Scanning refuses to pick up any of these transponders. Channel listings receive no signal whatsoever.

The receiver works fine for D+ & TPS

    Any clues?
    Regards
    Alfie

try the receiver on a different dish like a sly dish and see if it works ok , if it does your lnb is suspect and can be easily changed and cheap to buy too

as for the technomate software , v1.70 is the latest tm1000 series firmware and the latest patch is the v2.33 you are using

    v1.12 sounds very old !!

and dont have too many channels or too many transponders loaded or the receiver will be full up and then nothing will scan in

My mistake echelon, I do have v1.70
I have just checked on Hotbird, The receiver will pick up AB Sat on 11679 but will not pick up the next highest transponder 11726.
I agree that it sounds like the LNB is at fault,It seems an odd fault if it is.
I have no idea what is inside the plastic casing that could go wrong.
    Any idea?

are you sure its a modern universal lnb and not an old analogue type ?

an old lnb will only use 2 of the 4 possible states and so get some channels and not others

a typical old sly dish and lnb would give problems on some transponders until the lnb is changed to a universal

also check the F type connections to make sure they are all ok as a loose connection would give problems

That's interesting because it is the point where most Uni LNBs swap from low band to high band.

So it looks as though you are not switching to high band. As you say that you have swapped to HB I think we need to know your complete setup because it could be a motor or DiSEqC switch problem.

I have just noticed on the Satellite set up page, there is a setting for LNB Freq,
    1. 0.00/0.00
    2. 9.750/10.600
    3. 9.750/10.750

    Never noticed this before!
Is this restricting how high(transponder wise) my receiver will go?
If so how do I change it?

I would check your tm1500 settings are set correctly

then check it on another dish and lnb as I have already asked you to do

if it works on another dish , then your lnb seems to be at fault

if it fails on a different setup , your tm1500 needs looking into

    the settings should be

    lnb = power on
    lnb type = universal
    lnb freq = 9.750/10600
    22khz = auto

As you suggested echelon, I have tried the receiver on the communal dish/lnb for the flats I live in. The signals come in loud & clear @ the higher frequencies.
Obviously will have to climb up next week some time & change the LNB.
    Thanks everybody for your help.
    =Regards
    Alfie.

Had this problem a few times with my Dreambox. Turned out to be a loose connector in the coax cable run on each occasion.

Before you spend money, set the dish on 19E and then connect the LNB cable from the STB directly to the LNB (bypassing the stab) as it could still be the Stab diseq motor that is messing things up.

i have very similiar to this but on 9 and 10 east, it wont pick up the high transponders above 11.500, also a mate as had on and off problems with picking up high transponders, both of us have technomates but different brands of lnb, the op has a technomate reciever so could be more than a coincidence but does no harm to change the lnb.

Try doing a 'blind' search. My TM1000 froze whilst doing a search, but was OK on a blind search. Not sure if it's due to some transpoders transmitting HD using MPEG4.

got the same problem with my technomate, wanted to buy an art sport card but couldn't tune in to transponder 12.015. on hotbird .changed the lnb but it didn't solve the problem. let me know if you get it sorted.
