    Second hand Seca/Astoncrypt cam

    Anybody got any suggestions where best to find a second hand Astoncrypt/Seca CAM (want to test HD channels with my CYFRA+ card)?

    Then famous auction site is infiltrated with people flogging these for T0p-uptv (hence overpriced IMO) and I only want to test for now to see if I can open any HD channels on my PACE HD receiver (which isn't compatible with my XCAM). Position is further complicated as I don't know if the series 1.05 etc CAMs will be okay or whether I need a series 2 CAM (2.17 etc) - hence I don't want to waste cash here.

    No...only with official sub card and it depends if you have an 1.3-1.5 or the latest 2.0200

    Hi,
    I have a French C+ card(7.1) with Aston cam 1.05....Was working great until lately..the picture keeps scrambling every few minutes then comes back. Very annoying!
    Don't know why.

    Hi Goran,
    Yes tried rebooting rec but I think it could be the card as I have the same problem with my diablo cam.
    Tried in my Humax HDCI 2000 and my Nokia 9600 and I get same results.
    How do you flash a cam?I have a cas 3....any good?
    Thanks.

    Hehe... I'm sure you know how to do it, m8... However, if it's the same with all of those...

    The prob with 1.3 and 1.5 is well known but if you use the latest ASTONCRYPT 2.0200 you wont have any problem

    Can you flash a 1.05 CAM with 2 series software? I am thinking about 2.17 and 2.18 software for astoncams?

    @Satcave,
    Thank you, but NEVER had any problems before....I have the card and cam 2 years now. This is why I find it strange. Maybe it is due to the very soon canal plus France ONLY...(no more TPS).

    Question

    Ask the manufacturer, Gaz... They'll tell you of the possible incompatibilities [different HW?]...

    Probably the case then that your viewing card does not have the HD tier enabled.
