PC Com port

Something has gone wrong with my Dreambox 500s and i'm unable to boot it. My PC does not seem to have any Com ports which iv'e only just noticed, it was a new one from Dell. What am I able to do now to get my Dreambox working again?

Sounds like you need a USB to serial cable

interface is the solution the one I use works ok with fortec receivers but not technomate so it would be better to get one that is known to work with the dreamgox

Get an adaptor, but test it before you buy it. Most don't work !!!.

Get a usb to serial adapter made by FTDI. Works fine with my DB.

I use my wireless router to comunicate with my 500s from my laptop. the db is connected to the router with ethernet cable and using dcc or dreamup comunication is a doddle using its IP address, flash****** works seamlessly for changing my gemini images.
