The support stopped when Echostar pulled out of the market m8.
Still have the AD 3000 IP here with v 1100 software on it, fully working though

Hi,
I'm trying to update my 3000ip from version 1000 to version 1100, I've downloaded version 1100 from the echostar website and tried to download it, it all seems to go ok but when read the description on the receiver it still says version 1000.
How do I do this please ?
Thanks
Have you done the much mentioned "factory reset" (or similar name)?
Hi
I understud that a company had to give 7 years support
Jimbo
The recievers were first on the market more then 7 yearss back, mine AD 3000 IP was then, got mine when it came on the market.
When the firm selling them stops, the support stops.
7 Years? where did you get that?, look at the PDA/Phone market, the moment an new type hits the street, support for the older ones ceases to exist....
Hi cor
That is the standard in the UK
a product has to have a usefull life span
when you by a car and they change the model
do you scrap it
Jimbo
@ Jimbo,
I agree with you about the lifespan m8, no problem there.
Reality is that as i mentioned, the PDA's get only an few years support, My Ipaq 3950 gets no upgrade for WM 2005 but is only 4 years old, i even had an hard time finding WM2003 last year.
Must say the Echostars do work fine on the old software, just have an very old database of sat's and transponders in them.
So, im on your side, but reality is different....
