    What a strange dish

    Guys I was just browsing the auction site and came across this dish.

    Take I look at it, thats it I thought where is the top and bottom parts gone

    I remember a review of this dish a few years ago swedish microwave I think would have been expensive new do you have room for another big dish

    Hi Keano,

    its just a section of a parabola just like any other offset dish. It has a tighter horizontal beamwidth compared to vertical beamwidth which helps reduce interferene with adjacent satellites in the Clarke belt.

    Overall gain is determined by the reflector surface area and efficiency as usual. The shape could be handy in some situations.

    wavefrontier do something similar but has a secondary reflector

    No more dishes for me m8, I'm doing the opposite now.

    Looking at taking a couple down and using one of these multi lnb holders on a small dish with a diseqc switch.

    Interesting... and not that far away from me. What's the gain of this dish and what size is it equivalent to?
