I have only just gone mororised but it is more of a case of what you want to pick up more than where you live. Admittedly if you live at extremes of a coumtry then dish size will differ.
Need to know what you want to pick up and where you are located.

Just done a google on "dish size satellite" and there are quite a few sites that explain it pretty well.

I have not seen any guides describing individual installations, for individual locations, as what satellites are required, differs from person to person.

@lezwez, maybe you can clarify where you are, what satellites you are looking to receive, and whether you plan fixed dish, monoblock, or motorised.

It will aid members in responding to you.

There are two satellites at 4W - Amos 1, and Amos 2. They both have Europe and Middle East beams.

You would need an enormous dish for the Middle East beams.

I can get some of the TP's on the Amos 2 European beam, with a 1m dish in SE England. The footprint for Amos 2 Europe shows the London area in the 42db band, which would equate to a 1.1m dish

The footprint for Amos 1 Europe shows London in the 32db band, which equates to a 4.5m dish

The Middle East beams are not even showing anywhere outside that region, so much larger than 4.5m would be needed.

    Hi drpaulos.
Few other transponders also picked up but as I am only FTA must contain scrambled channels. On the other hand they might be bleed over from 5 west.
