satellite dish law (putting one up)

guys, people have been telling me to be careful about putting my dish up!

i assumed cos my house is freehold and under 1m - then it would be fine.

do i need to ask \ tell the local council im putting one up - or is that asking for trouble?

i will tell the neighbours - this way - at least they know, and will hopefully feel that im a nice chap for introducing myself and letting them know.

    LOL!

    what do u think.

I will be moving to hemel hempstead (borough of dacorum)

I think you need planning permission (officially) for anything more than 1 dish attached to your house. As far as I am aware, this is not applicable if they are ground mounted.

Although you might cause some talk if you stuck a 3m dish by your shed!!!

put it up and if anyone comes round tell them it`s an 80cm if anyone goes up to measure it just tell them you paid for an 80cm and that`s what you thought you had

    Hi

You need planning for a dish thats above 1m now and thats
    anywhere on your property

But if you are in a Designated Area (Conservation Area,
National Park, an Area of Outstandig Natural Beauty) then
    it might be different

1 metre is the maximum for 1 of them , and the other can be a mini dish

One shouldn't give a damn about planning permissions as long as you ground mounting. If the neighbours next door are good you shouldn't have any problem.
    I don't

    Hemel is beautiful mate!

    LOL!!

One thing i hav noticed since having the dish mounted on my new house wall, is the noise it makes when moving, i dont yet have double glazing, and i can hear it when it moves...wonder if that annoys the neighbours....!?

    Whoopsie.

Mines on the ground and you can easily hear it at night through the double glazing.

Saw a house in Totenham north London last month - in a quite terraced street with 2 x 1 Metre dishes on the FRONT of the house, I stopped and just stared
