Have you tried a sponge?
just a sponge and soapy water i use as well.
I have used Jif (Sorry Cif) - the one with bleach in and I'm told that Cilit Bang works well (Shouting not required!)
Morpheus
i used a jet wash on mine as when i got it it was green as i had not been used for years . came of the roof of sony in basingstoke .
did sony know,
Mine is rusting !! its on the roof here and I cant quite figure out how a glass fiber dish is rusting. Must be the Lagos air !!
Hmmmmmmmmm who cares! just nice to see the old members and avatars here!
But a channel master will never get dirty! My 1.8m is still waiting to go up!
Ye you and your bargains!!!!!!i used a jet wash on mine as when i got it it was green as i had not been used for years . came of the roof of sony in basingstoke .
You cent! lol
I painted my 1.2m channel master black with non metalic paint for that modern look!
I wonder what metal they use for the channel master dishes and if water gets under the plastic outer shell will it rust
after waashing just car wax
Ok lads, and thank's for all the help.
Wash with a sponge and car shmpoo, I would NOT recomend a jet, and after drying use car wax, that the rain drops flow easyly from the surface.
In northern regions due to the elevation or inclination the dish is quite vertically facing the floor, therefore the rain water flows quickly and rust is not so common, although the northern regions are more wet, but when we come closer to the ecuator, where the elevation is almost 90º !!!! and the dish acts more as a pan it catches all the dust and drops.
Nice to see al the old-members back...
channel master dish is carbon fiber thier is no metal under the surface
so how the reflector, reflect back micowave signals, all GPR dish faces have an imbedded reflective layer, which by the nature of radio waves has to be metal/ or a large metalic content.
satellitesmith
carbon fibre plastic microwave signals will pass straight through without some metal probably steel due to the weight the outer skin is bonded onto the metal
