Seems like its getting electronic device altzeimers, capacitors are probably stuffed from long useage, most of my bits of kit that pack up after long term useage are usually down to caps drying up and bulging, its long and drawn out replacing them as there are usually scores of them tightly packed on pcb boards with hardly any access.

This is one occassion when buying new makes more sence.

Did you try a different Stb? to make sure that it is not a Dish/LNB problem, also USB device
can go faulty, too, worth checking before binning.

Hi umgum reference the loss of your Spiderbox, did you keep this on standby or was it switched off every time after use? I am just curious as to which works better, myself I always turn my Spiderbox 9000HD off after use, this receiver I bought back in 2010.
The reason I ask is that the other day I had used my 9000 early in the morning but only noticed I had left box on standby late in the afternoon, when I reached to switch off the mains using the switch on the back of the receiver I was surprised at the heat coming off the receiver. Thought to myself if this was on permanent standby this would certainly dry the circuit board connections more rapidly.

Turning off at the mains is probably the best bet, otherwise the power supply is perminently on which generates heat and wears the components out sooner rather than later.

Hi with all due respect the no signal message does not mean that the box is faulty.. it could be problem with dish cable Lnb or wrong frequencies etc. The USB message could indicate that the format is incorrect...try a different USB .

    Regards

Not all chinese produced usb's work well, reformat them on the non quick option, and reinsert them if you get error messages, most work eventually, some don't !
