    motorized dish-25.5 east and 23.5east

Hi Guys, just after a little bit of information. I have had for a while a motorized dish and just recently had it re-aligned by a sat engineer. He basically set me up on Thor and 28.2 east . I have then worked through the arch and I can get the following sats, 28.2,19.2,16.0,13.0,0.8 and 30 w.
The problem that I am having is that i wanted to get 25.5 and 23.5 .I can get a few channels on 23.5 but not the frequency that I want. I then contacted my installer explaining what I have said above, he came back with the reply that he thinks my dish is to small?
I have a 1.2m dish and my garden is south facing , I live just south of Sheffield , postcode of S81.
Can anybody throw anymore ideas that could help i.e adjustment slightly of dish!

23.5E is one of the strongest satellites available, in the UK, so you shouldn't have any problems, you should also get a few transponders on 26E, but not as many as used to be available.
You should also get 10E, 9E, 4.9E, ad a number of western satellites.
    Check the strongest transponders list.

Please post back with receiver details and the channels you're trying to get on 23.5E.

    Agree
Astra 23.5 EAst is one of the easiest sats to pick
List here https://en.*********.net/pos-23.5E.php (king of sat with no spaces)
Most Europeans have it dual lnb to watch that & 19.2 East from same dish

You should get some of the beams from 26 EAst
    List here https://en.*********.net/pos-26E.php

But don't expect to receive anything from 25.5 East as the beams are directly focused on the middle east
Thats the one that broadcasts beIN sports

Maybe the skew needs physical adjustment at the dish end of the set up/

Not when it's a motorised dish.

Especially when it's a motorised dish of course adjusting LNB Skew can greatly improve signal [ and focus ] on marginal Signals and pictures .
Astra 23.5 East should scan 200+ channels at least your dish is fine 1.2m so not too small at all
so LNB Skew is important for this sat what freq's were you trying to pick up ?
as for 25.5E as mentioned you are not going to get nothing unless you live in middle east which you do not ,

You should easily receive 42E,39E,28.2E,26E [ Some Freq's ] for full amount 1.6m and bigger is needed
    23.5E , 21.6E , 19.2E , 16E , 13E , 10E, 9E , 7E , 4.8E , 3E , 1.6E , 0.8W [ THOR ] , 3W , 5W , 8W , 12.5W , 15W , 20W , 22W , 24.5W , 27.5W , 30W

IF Your dish was installed correct and LNB Skew is peaked all those satellites should be found with high signals ,
    Good luck : )

I was under the impression that if the skew was set correctly when the dish was at zero deg, then the angle of the dish would mean the skew would be correct on all sats and not need adjusting.

We don't know if it is set correctly or how accurately it tracks the arc.

They may never post back but its like everything the devil is in the detail, make of motor is it using USALS or diseq, what make of lnb, how old, make of receiver, could be old and poor tuner, is it hd or sd chanels, make of dish, could be old and warped/rusty, arm loose and finally the frequency that cannot be received, may be closed or changed.
