HD6000 PVR creates .RCD file. Why?

I don't get the HD6000's PVR recording. It produces only an info.rcd file and the usual series of .ts files. I've never seen .rcd used like this. Seemingly it's a PCanywhere extension.

What is that file doing? Also, there seems to be no file that lets you play all the .ts files in a package strung together. Odd.

    What am I missing?

    Thanks!

I don't know the recorder, but it's almost certainly NOT a PCanywhere file - why do you think it is? Extensions get reused all the time. It's probably some own-format file which stores metadata like what order the ts files belong in, where it was recorded from and so on.

I agree, it's probably the playlist. But out of long habit I always query unusual or unexplained extensions. In this case the change from the HD9000 format and the fact that the extension is only known as a PCanywhere extension warranted caution.

Open it in a hex editor and see if it makes any sense?
