Strange...or is it just me ?

    Hello to all sat seekers,
Could anyone explain why on 39' east I get a 97% signal on 12464 H (with other transponders = 16 free channels)...and 11053 V with multiple scrambled channels. Perfect reception...and then ZERO reception on Magic (12464 H) but 97% on the scrambled channels. Is it just me, or are we all in the UK affected ?

I'm not too sure what you are asking?
Are you saying you receive 12464 h ok but not magic on 12464 h?

I am receiving magic on 12464 H 30000 strong signal.
Try either deleting the channel and rescanning or delete the transponder and then re adding transponder and rescanning.

    Hi.
I'm saying I receive all the free channels plus all the encrypted ones...so obviously I delete all the scrambled ones...leaving around 16 free channels, mostly music vids. Magic should have the strongest signal....but ALL 16 channels flag up "No signal"...??

Just scanned in 12464 H 30000 DVB-S2 8PSK 2/3, on 39E, and have no problem with any of them.

I can't understand why you're experiencing problems, as if it were interfernece, a faulty LNB, or other reasons, it should affect all channels, on that frequency.
What receiver, and set up, do you have?

    DECT Phone or Vbox ?

My Vbox gives me the same issue on that transponder and also one in the 11680 range ( I forget the exact frequency) in the lower band too

My set up is a 1.2 elliptical dish, motorised on a Jaegar mount, with a dual Universal LNB, and my STB is a TM-5402 M3 HD +. I've got around 30 sats logged and all working free to air...no problems at all. Just the 39' east HellaSat 2/3 with 40 encrypted channels downloading at around 90% Q on Vertical....but NO Horizontal channels at all. I've tried deleting the STB's satellite position, re-positioning to another setting, using an encrypted transponder to get the best signal of 87%...then adding the relative Magic, etc. transponders by hand, rather than Blind Search, as they are in the 12,000 H range. I get NO signal...as tho' they don't exist. Yet all the 11,000 V's will download if I type them in or do a Blind Search.

I did at one time have the complete 18 free to air channels...then overnight they were gone....then returned, now gone again. My location is West Dorset and 245 feet above sea level...my Polar arc is 50' east to 50' west.

There is an option in the menu at the bottom of one screen H/V {on/off} but I'm unsure what this relates to as in: Why would I want to switch either on, or off ? I'm puzzled.

I had a similar problem, with my DECT telephone, on Sport 1 Germany, the FTA channel, but it was the same on the whole transponder, both FTA, and encrypted channels, you can't have a problem with FTA channels, and not the encrypted channels, on the same frequency.
I moved my DECT telephone and the problem ceased, until a new problem arose, years later, this time I noticed certain transponders were weaker than others, the ones in the high frequency range, but only when I was recording, using one tuner, and narrowed the problem to my V-Box II.
My satellite set up is a 1.2M motorized dish, Jaeger 1224 motor, V-Box II, and a VU+ Duo 2 receiver, with two tuners, I have a C120 twin LNB, so two separate cables, one going through my V-Box II, so my receiver can control my motor, the second fed directly to my VU+ Duo 2.
All I had to do, to fix the problem was replace the satellite cable, nothing lasts forever, and since then I've had no problems.

It's quite simple to check if you have a similar problem, by doing what I did, remove the cable, from your V-Box II, and connect it directly to your receiver, if the signal quality improves you know where the problem lies.

Trust me, I'd bet my Mortgage on the fact that if he doesn't have a DECT Phone and he removes the feed from the dish into the VBoxII and places it directly into his Sat Receiver, the problem will magically disappear.

The VBoxII is not well shielded. I've never found a solution to this. I've even tried wrapping it in tin foil lol, and moving it doesn't help either, because I believe its some of the components inside the VBoxII that's introducing the noise.

Thanks for the suggestion...which I tried...but sorry to say it didn't change anything. I like your setup of using 2 cables (I have this) on a duel LNB...one to supply the signal BUT the other to move the motor.

Just to make sure we're on the same sheet...my STB is a TM-5402 HD M3 CI Super +

The "screen" I'm referring to is the TV screen that the STB presents when you operate the various controls via the remote. The buttons are colour coded on the remote to match the ones on the screen.

Select Installation menu...Motorised setting...bottom of TV screen is a yellow square...press yellow button on remote. This action reveals 6 options along the bottom of the screen. One of those options is "green...H/V" ....that's what I'm referring to, as at the top of the screen it has ON/Off...but for what purpose ?

Yes, I know that...but how does one use it ? Is there an info sheet anywhere to explain ? I've used Spectrum Analysers on Pantone colours regarding fabric shades but never on a satellite menu program. What's the point of the option H/V ? Logic tells me if I can receive horizontal AND vertical polarisation on 30 different satellites...why not on 39' east.
