    oscam ipk file

I loaded and installed an oscam softcam file, then uninstalled it and deleted it from usr>softcams. I then attempted to install it again but I get the message that I can't because it is still there. Any ideas where it could be so that I can get rid of it and start again.
I searched high and low but can't see it.
    Using solo2 - openvix.
    Any help appreciated.

    /var/lib/opkg/info/

Delete the files pertaining to Oscam list and Oscam Control

    Reboot then try again.

Or alternatively, send your ipk to /tmp

Then telnet into your box and issue

    opkg install -force-overwrite /tmp/*.ipk

(with the * being the exact name of your Oscam ipk)

If you installed it using an ipk then it should be.

You should find Oscam files starting with enigma2-plugin-extensions-oscam(yourversion).control and .list

Its these files telling Enigma2 that the version you are trying to install again is already installed and up to date. In effect they're lying to Enigma2 because you deleted manually using FTP

Another option is to simply extract your ipk using 7zip and then extract the zipped data file and then just send the Oscam binary to /usr/bin and chmod to 755, restart Enigma2 and Oscam will be installed again.

I have looked through all the enigma2 files and I can't see any reference to oscam.
The file I downloaded was described as an ipk file although it finishes with .rar
I have tried removing it by telnet with no success.
I have installed a earlier version from plugins, which will do for now, but would like to get rid of the downloaded one.
I am now getting error messages popping up on the screen every 2-3 mins
I think a fresh flash might be the answer, unless you have any more ideas how to get rid of it,

Nope. One or all of the above methods should work.

If not you probably tried to install a corrupted ipk, and best to flash a backup.

.rar is a compressed file, it might contain a .ipk file but until you uncompress it you don't know.
Equally you state you loaded an Oscam softcam file, how did you load it?
Oscam usually refers to an emulator, whereas softcam I usually associate with keys.

Can you please post the name of the file, and where you found it, if on satpimps please post a link.

First you need to uncompress the file, using Winrar, winzip or the free 7-zip, to see if it contains a .ipk file, which can be loaded using the manual install of ipk files option, in your receivers menu, or contains files you transfer, to your current Oscam configuration, using Filezilla, or other FTP program, and overwrite the current oscam files.

butchyboy you need to install the latest oscam because that has the latest information needed to decrypt the the channels. after you have installed the new file you then need to send the juneautoroll configs to var/tuxbox/config on your box. Next turn on the latest oscam you have just installed and you then need to turn to one of the sis channels and leave the channel on for a few minutes for the keys to auto update.

I don't think is powerfull enough. They only just released it with out stream relay some months ago on e2 boxes. I have not read anywhere that it works on original duo but it would be nice to be proved wrong.

Up until earlier this year powervu channels where not available to view without doing a lot of messing around. It involved using something called stream relay and you needed a special channel list a bit like iptv. I was only some months later that they got rid of the need to use stream relay and the reason it took so long was because they said the boxes were not powerfull enough to run the new encryption. This is why i don't think older boxes can run it.
