I've never seen a plane reverse in mid air ?

While watching a bit of cricket over a beer or two a few Sundays back my attention wandered to a vapor trail in the sky that suddenly went back the way it came instantly without turning, you might say i must have had a few too many beers, but my camera hadn't had any.

Can alien space ships change direction so quick ?

Lots of explanations for that - 2 planes crossing contrails, altitude and amount of water vapour (notice how there's hardly any cloud), windspeed etc.

The vapor trails would have been exactly over Heathrow Airport ! actually it was in the south east not the Heathrow direction, more like Epsom way.

Well there you go then, 2 different Aircraft taking off or landing on different runways.

Would not be a Vapor trail that high over Heathrow if they was taking off and landing.

It was a high altitude vapour trail, it stayed there for 25 minutes until it disappeared out of view, if it was at low altitude the wind would have dispersed it, I'm still baffled ! it was over the south east more near Epsom not LHR.

Come down here to west Wales -- we get the vapour trails blotting out the sun every day (well days when we can see the sun before the sky gets filled with the trails!)
They take bearings from a local beacon before heading out over the Atlantic turning north /south or straight on or fly back into Europe .

Bring back the days when all trans Atlantic flights were grounded during 911 --- we had crystal clear skies for over a week .
We get aircraft doing handbrake turns every day .
    Regards

All your answers are good, but I still think that was an alien ship
