I loaded the only version of iPlayer they gave me - so don't THINK there was even a choice!
Do realise it has to be Beta one as per info on website, but will continue trying as per suggestions!!
    Thanks again.

Woman commentator on Portugal v Morocco. Fecking awful. BBC agenda politics to filll quotas and please the PC brigade. Women's voices do not suit sports commentary. Watched the match on Ard German.

I had no trouble watching the England match in 4K using BBC iplayer. Not impressed with the picture quality though. About the same as HD. My broadband speed is 300Mbps so well above BBCs recommended 40Mbps.

I am definitely watching the BBC 'Beta' version of iPlayer, which is supposed to be the version containing the 4K quality vid - but as with rabbitseggs my impression is that it's pretty dreadful when compared with the BBC HD on both Sly Q and Freeview, not to mention Freesat too!
I even tuned my TV display to 'Cinema Pro' as instructed within the settings, as my usual 'Custom' setting was supposed to be not bright or strong enough for 4K, despite soccer, F1, cricket all on Sly and tennis on Eurosport are fine set to 'Custom'!

The HD quality was iffy again tonight with a green cast, digital is a ragbag of problems, downscaling is the latest problem to wreck the pictures, I wont ever pay broadcasters that use it, I'll watch it for free and criticize the ****e quality, HD 5 years ago was far superior, personally I prefer an-alog when you could see blades of grass and rain and snow.

4k streaming is great but it will also require a 4t screen too, its better to watch a live broadcast then

TRT4K at 42E has been FTA stunning picture all way through straight to my LG OLED which has USALS built in....fantastic. Recording England v Croatia to watch later on this channel whilst I go and watch it on a crappy SD TV at the pub for the "shared experience" and beer

i've watched TRT4K at 42E but only in 1080p stunning picture though, I'll be watching the england game tonight on my solo4k as the picture quality on it is far superior to a sky hd box.

Can you post a few screenshots later? does it have boring logos ie UHD etc? And is it as simple as me buying an LG OLED TV 55 ins and a solo4k, then hook up to my motorised dish. Do I need anything else, ie a different type of LNB?

Existing LNB will be fine assuming you are already picking up HD with it. Oh & your OLED TV needs to be 4K as well.

That said I see 4K test channels OK on my HD TV from my 4K receiver. Still not sure how that works but it does and it looks the dogz.
