Think its time to replace the pole .

Pole been looking a little rusty so removed some tape and foam it was filled with :o15:

Looks a bit worse than i thought i know the ends will rust a bit faster but don't want it coming down next winter.

I've found a company that can supply a galvanized one for £87 inc delivery , don't seem too bad to me .

Has to be 3 inch / 3 meter Anyone any recommendation feel free to pm me .

Keep an eye open for knocked down street sign poles, most are 3" diameter and recent ones are alloy, they are perfect for the job.

@cosworth4x4 And how do you plan to connect pole to the ground? Or it will be attached to the wall?

Isn't alloy too weak for a large heavy dish that will catch the wind?
I would have thought steel would be needed.

I have just got myself a 1.2m Gibertini. Is a 3 inch alloy pole going to be strong enough for it?

It's a pole from a street sign. It was knocked down well over a year ago and has been left laying on the floor for all that time so the local council are not concerned about it.

I suppose it depends how thick the wall is , im going steel as my dish is pretty high up and gets a good battering with the winter winds.
