    Tomtom Start 20

    Hello.

I'm trying to add Europe map to a Tomtom start 20, but this particular unit never shows up in Windows explorer so i can't just copy the map over, everything must be done through their software MyDrive Connect.

Anyone come across this problem before?

    Can it be done?

    Thanks

You've surely nearly answered your own question mate?
For my Start 25, I also use My Drive Connect!
You download it, register as instructed, connect your device via USB provided once logged in and download your latest map once paid for!

    Simple!

Apologies for not making myself clear, the map i downloaded is just that, one i downloaded, free, unpaid for, not one from Tomtom.

    Thanks

Ah sorry mate, in that case I doubt I can help you - I actually had both UK & ROI plus Western Europe maps (official - sorry!) on my Start 25, albeit with the aid of an sd microcard for the extra memory thus required, but as for 'unofficial' maps from elsewhere on a Start TomTom device without the use of My Drive I doubt it's possible, unless anyone else on Pimps can assist here - e.g. Russel1 or dOOds?

No worries mate, you can't blame Tomtom for taking that security step, but it doesn't help us poor pirates lol

Maybe it can be added to a SD card, and then somehow added to the unit, but not found any info via google.

    Thanks

There is NO (current) way to manipulate/crack/patch/copy/clone or otherwise modify these v10/v11/v12/v13/v14 navcore devices which are on all the latest devices since 2010 and (mostly) run through MyDrive rather than TTHome.

The current full list of these devices is below:-

    GO 40/50/60/400/500/600/800/1000/1500/2000/5000/6000 Series
GO LIVE Camper & Caravan and Top Gear edition
    All Via/Via Live Series
    All PRO/PRO Truck series
Start 20/25/60 Series (but NOT the Start Classic, Start, Start²/Start 40/45/50/55 series which still use TTHome)
Blue & Me TomTom 2 LIVE
    Sony XNV
    TomTom Connect
