    Travel Insurance.

Can anyone recommend a provider of travel insurance for those over 80 years of age.

Unfortunately it has become very expensive so any advice would be much appreciated.

Try Liverpool Victoria (LV), being over 65 most insurers wanted shed loads of dosh but I got a decent deal from them for just hundreds for a year, they were far and away the best deal but 80 years of age might be a challenge these days.

If you book an organized trip or tour from a company they will probably require you to have travel and health insurance, if you book a return flight yourself with an airline and book your own accommodation online and sort your own connections out there is no such requirement.

I know peeps that travel without any insurance of any kind, risky if you have a medical condition but sometimes it is the only way.

I believe that Staysure say that they will cover over '80s. Probably a different story when you ring them!! AGE UK Travel Insurance should be worth a call. You are likely to find single trip easier to get for the over 80's. No real logic there, (given the caveats in the multi trip policies), though. Good luck!

I've used Virgin Money a lot. Decent price and good levels of cover when there are existing medical conditions (Mrs). Not sure about prices for the elderly but worth a look.

I am 78 and took out travel Insurance with Staysure last year. I have had major surgery on my spine and a replacement knee joint plus other problems. After going through all my medical history the premium was quire hefty. I opted not to be covered for a number of issues and the premium then became fairly reasonable. I would suggest you give them a ring and discuss your medical history. I found them very helpful. If I remember rightly they email the policy to you.

Go to your Bank it see what they offer went to mexico last may had a good deal with Santander. Staysure advertise a good deal but when you start to answer the questions about your aliments the price goes crazy.
