    Stephen Hawking has died

Stephen Hawking: Visionary physicist dies aged 76.

He died peacefully at his home in Cambridge in the early hours of Wednesday, his family said.

The British scientist was famed for his work with black holes and relativity, and wrote several popular science books including A Brief History of Time.

At the age of 22 Prof Hawking was given only a few years to live after being diagnosed with a rare form of motor neurone disease.

No matter who we are or what we achieve, death, comes to us all. No one can doubt that Stephen beat the odds on longevity with his condition & achieved so much in so doing. His contribution to Humankind will not pass with him but instead will endure forever.

Sad day, but remarkable given that he was not expected to live beyond near his teens.

Now just heard that Jim Bowen: Former Bullseye host and comedian has also just died aged 80. Can the day possibly get any worse?

Professor Stephen Hawking was a true genius in his own field no doubt about that.

But i admire him for the way he coped with motor neuron disease for all those years.

    R.I.P Professor

Well the world was a better place with him in it, he had a good life and did things most people only dream about. I thought he was a great person and would love to have a fraction of his knowledge.

RIP dude, I'm sure in some parallel universe (which you believed in), you're reading this post and laughing.

    R.I.P Stephen Hawking 1942 - 2018
    R.I.P Jim Bowen 1937 - 2018

Jim Bowen dead aged 80 , Stephen Hawking dead aged 76 .
very sad Jim Bowen was a class act in every way i can not think of any TV Presenter that has or possibly will ever come close to being so funny and genuinely entertaining and serious at the same time , a great person and so funny without even as much as trying to be he will always be remembered .

Sadly you can now add Liam O'Flynn, to that list Barney. Anyone that had an interest in Irish music, would have been well acquainted with him through Planxty, etc.
