try reinstall of ie ,if possible.i have a nat lottery a/c for over a week i have had same problems,can not log in,password problems,change pasword,too many log in atempts,loads of daft capchas,loads of pasword changes but still can not log in...??

It's same for me on my Win 7 desktop pc - AND my Win 10 laptop mate, so can't possibly be same for BOTH - CAN it??

have found that f/fox updates quite often,then some sites dont open or some signins dont work then along comes and update and all is well again

Fair comment, but hope you understand why I can't see much point in re-installing ie on BOTH pcs, when surely it would be too much coincidence for BOTH to be corrupted - and different OS too, Win 7 and Win 10?
Firefox is available on my Win 10 laptop, but I rarely use it - and currently I can't get it to open properly anyway, so will have to investigate further after the weekend mate!! lol!!

something very wrong here,looks like,1.avirus...2security setting, 3.software clash.4 anti virus program blocking, uninstall firefox,reboot comp,download firefox and install,test it,if still no joy then,you have big problem,account hacked ?

It must have been a yahoo problem, yahoo. com is ok today atm (after around two weeks not available).
And a simple google search for Yahoo mail down will show how many customers have had problems this few weeks.
