    Hi

Did you call this Garbage/Fake News ?
    h##p://mirrors.kodi.tv/nightlies/windows/win64/master/
of course this are pre releases but if you ever had install one of this "Fake" Builds
you would see on the end of the Install process that almost all 17.3 Repos are
ported to this 64bit build an all are Working
Tested this on my Win10 64bit PC
in my eyes Fake news looks differnt

I SAID NOTHING ABOUT Nightly BUILDS Being Fake or otherwise ?
i just said that this anouncement which was actually first made some months ago was garbage
and not true because Kodi V18 has still not yet been released Officially via Kodi d/load site or other .
i think you read my post very wrong ...

It is not Fake news i got it from the genuine Kodi site, there is no download available from what i can see, it just says it is here with details of the difficulty the devs have had in building v18 Kodi.
    I hope this clarifies things.

Kodi v17.3 "Krypton", is the stable build that's currently available.
Kodi v18 "Leia" nightly - is a development build that gets updated nightly and is prone to bugs.

I've been using this program since the original xbox was hacked and used it, my advice is to stick to the stable builds, as there's more chance you won't have any issues due the numerous bug fixes/testing that's carried out on those builds.

Once v18 is a stable release you'll see RC1 (meaning it's a release candidate) in the title, until then - you're quite right to say that, v18 is not released, it's just a nightly snapshop build.

    @waverider

If you want to read news about Kodi and releases, get it straight from the official Kodi website, and also read their forums - everything you need to know is there. ANY other website giving info about Kodi, is just some random blogger writing their own personal opinion and is not always factual or correct - and sometimes the just write downright lies.

    Code:
    https://kodi.tv/article/kodi-v18-windows-64-bit-here
Read that page correctly - now go to the downloads page and you'll see the the current stable release is 17.3

Not trying to ****** this thread, but think it's relevant, as I have just installed Bluestacks because I seem to recall someone on Pimps saying that Kodi can be used in conjunction with it, so can someone please explain how to actually do this please - assuming it really IS an option?

Bluestacks allows Android apps to run on a Windows PC. It runs in the background - I had it working but it seems a bit buggy.

I think I am now running Kodi for Windows though but two things put me off it are that it takes over the whole screen i.e. no multiple windows and then Kodi seems to need re-populating every time I start it.

I'll confess, I haven't a clue what I am doing and usually revert to Mobdro on my Android tablet rather than persevere with Kodi on the rare occasions I need a dodgy channel (I'm not a footy fan so it is just the F1 GPs that Ch4 don't have).

    @ Detlef
totally uninstall Bluestacks and Download Bluestacks 3 for PC
i just did a few days ago and i was blown away the difference in this new version ,
it would not install until i totally wiped away old version Bluestacks
but i am very impressed with Bluestacks 3 now and it has been totally upgraded and nowhere near as buggy
as old version which was a pure nightmare to be honest the difference is night and day and it did not take long at all to install
all my previous Apk's again now i have very fast Bluestacks 3 which does what it should and no Lag please give it a try you will not be sorry .
    Cheers !!

Thanx mate, so how do I go about installing it on my android based TV, do I have to use the TV's Google/internet option directly using this link?

No idea about TV but with AMAZ ON Android Fire Stick upgrade can easily be done with ES File Explore ,
TV May be different , How did you originally install Kodi ?
really once you launch Kodi it should request you to download to 17.5 Latest Version and take you to direct d/load location .

Sorry if I misled you Barney, but I don't actually currently use Kodi, but only such things as Mobdro etc, so as of yet have no precedent from which to work!
Maybe I will go into TV internet & enter the url above to see if it loads etc!

I have a Sony android tv.
Download kodi and transfer to a usb stick. Use Es Explorer to find the download and install.
Es Explorer is in Google playstore if you do not have it already.
