His music will never die !
Great respect for the important contribution this man made to Popular Music & am happy to admit to his being influential to my own playing in pub bands in the 70's. "Johnny b goode" was pretty much a pub standard back then.
Massive star - legendary, despite blots in his private life this man really WAS one of those who actually started Rock and Roll 'proper' - Buddy Holly also in same category - both 'new wave' in that they actually WROTE most of their own material - unlike most of those both before and since!
