    Considering a Hitechbox

Hi. I'm considering purchasing the Hitechbox but reading through the forum, there seems to have been a few problems recently with it. Have they been sorted or should I go with a spider box. Which is more stable and easier to set up?

So far, in spite of some issues now and then,I am delighted with my Hitechbox.

It replaced my 2 previous Spiderboxes, and it has so much more to offer.

True it has had its issues (scrambled) but I guess that is to be expected. Definitely as good or better as the Spiderbox in this respect.

But then it has many more options...

Yes that maybe so, but blackdevil has not posted anything on this forum for quite some time, and as Joe Maddison said " I would wait a week or too and see what develops re the hitech box " so who knows what may happen only blackdevil and the team know the answer to that question.

The spider 6000 is also a combo box in that it has IPTV and sat. For my part I have Kodi for IPTV but the picture quality is nowhere near as good as sat. Much depends on what you want it for.

I have what is now an old spider 9900 which I use mainly for sports. If there is radio commentary and you use a pure radio with a delay function, so you can sync it, its hard to top (radio commentary often superior to TV). On the bases that tech is improving every day, I'm not going to replace that until it stops working and see what is about then.

I think many of us are present/recent owners of a Spiderbox and somewhat apprehensive about the future. The interface that the Spiderbox has (I have a 9900) is IMHO, superior to the HiTech box. What I'm drawn to most with the HiTech box is the inclusion of PowerVu in the code edit list and a seemingly endless list of IPTV channels. Moreover if you currently use Superiks, you can also use it with the HiTech box.

Again, the little box delivers a lot.

If you read the forum often enough you would know, that there was a thread concerning members asking about renewing their 12 month extensions for the Hitech receivers which were about to expire, suffice to say the thread got a little heated and questions were being asked of blackdevils involvement in the extension deals, and as a result of some of those question blackdevil said he would not be posting anymore on this forum, and that thread was deleted by Admin, Mods whoever, and as far as I am aware blackdevil has not posted since, whether he has logged in since to see what the situation is/was, only he will know, and it remains to be seen if he will post again, and what will happen to members who's 12 month deals expire is another story.
