    Zgemma H2S flashing problem

    Hi all

Any help appreciated. Just brought a zegemma managed to flash it to open atv but dicided to revert to open vix but cant get the box to flash , it just says boot then goes back to open atv.

tried 2 different usb sticks but no luck the box seems to corrupt the sticks (fat 32 etc) when they go back into the pc it flags an error that thr pc easily repairs. Very confused!!

    Any help gratefully received

I have got one of these boxes but I use openatv.

You can only flash from the rear socket.

When flashing openatv you insert the flash drive power on wait for the display to change from boot to USB and press the standby button.
The display then shows flash and the box flashes.

I think it is different for openxiv try this.
Insert drive, press and hold standby button while powering on.
I am not sure whet happens next but I think the display says flash or maybe USB and you release the button.

Forgot to mention I have the same problem with windows reporting the flash drives having a problem.
I usually just ignore it because they work ok. It may be a problem with windows or just not a big problem.

Use bootice to prepare the USB first this seems to make the problem go away!

I have tried bootice (looks quite useful) and it does clear the corrupted message but as soon as the stick is written to by the box the problem reappears.
You can also clear it by formatting it under windows with similar results.

It seems windows stores "system volume information" on every disc it uses presumably to pickup possible corruptions.
This is updated every time the disc contents are changed under windows but not when used in your STB.
Windows picks up files with newer date stamps than the SVI and reports an error.

By the way whenever I have let windows check the stick it has found no errors.
