    Guy's

I'll try and help but it should just work so my 1st question is how are you getting the Ethernet wire back to your broadband router?

Is it a straight cable or are you using power plugs?

    Regards.

    CUK

Ok that should make it easier.

On the SpiderBox when you choose wired network Auto do you see an IPAddress

If not what does it say when you use wireless?

In Network Settings you should have the following:

    Network Interface - Wired Network

    Wired Network - Auto

    Network Status - Connected

IP Address - 192.168.000.XXX - Whatever your IP address is.

    Spiderbox works fine with cable.

    Direct of with homeplugs.

Your router could be the problem not the box .

As aldo stated above with those settings it should work ok.

It is strange indeed, as you do not see all of those details in Network Settings, you would only see the details as I posted in post#6 above, and they work OK for me, and further more wireless and wired would not be able to use the same last 3 digits, and in Auto the receiver auto detects your ISP.

    Put your wire back in.

Log on to your router .

    Check your attached devices

Or with the wire in you reboot you router.

You do not mention what isp or what router you have

Ok not good to use the same as wireless but OK for a quick and dirty test.

I'm with Rasp now either a router or cable issue.

when you go wired on the spiderbox do you see any lights above the network cable

If its working there should be a steady green on one side and flashing yellow on the other.

If you have a laptop or PC and connect it to the cable can you get to the internet?

    Regards.

H You can also check if internet is working by seeing if Youtube or IPTV is working. Also check connectio speed via your phone if possible or laptop as already mentioned. I use home plugs and usually works very well. Regards

Same issue here. Box has worked flawlessly for 18 months and has now developed intermittent connection fault, failing to connect auto hardwired. I now need to open network settings and go to auto, press ok and wait....and wait....until the box connects. Wifi also on the blink. Think this is an issue with the software or memory as deleting channels and transponders reduces the problem. Suggest you bin unused transponders from memory and see if this resolves the problem.

I had the same problem with a Talk Talk router but changed it for a spare BT router and its fixed the problem. I would suggest its your routers that are causing the problem.

If you can then I would ensure your gateway & DNS server is your Router IP on your receiver.

I am on talktalk so this may be a factor....
Box failed to connect again today _ but did work on iptv. Seems updating the iptv kicks the comms link into life.

    Hi.

It seems that the above problems are quite recent with the 6000hd. I am connected direct to the router. It has worked since I bought the box and Im only noticing no internet by ethernet. Sometimes wifi is ok and clears channels. I have tried factory reset, reinstalling patch still no good.

    Any help

    @anyi

Have you checked the details in post 6#, and if so have you done a reset on your modem/router, and if it is still the same maybe you should contact your internet service provider, they maybe able to help you, you may need a new modem/router.

General rule of thumb for routers is never to use the one supplied by the ISP (and I never have as I read various reviews and choose the "best one" for my needs at the time)- although the recent BT routers might be different from what I have read.
However it seems to me that you might well need to read up on the set-up instructions for the one you have at the moment, and ensure DHCP is set to ensure that the router should be able to automatically allocate addresses to anything connected to the network, and that the receiver is also set up to use DHCP (sorry if this is "telling my grandmother.." but "you never can tell").

Hi The general rule for Spiderbox 6000 is as follows:
    1) always leave network settings as Auto do not amend the default figures.
    2) select wireless if you are able to pick up a strong signal from your router..in my opinion signal should be at least 70%.
    3) select wired if using home plugs or straight ethernet cable connections.
    4) you should see message connected and your IP address at the bottom if ok. If you dont get this message then recheck your connections etc.

    5) Check if IPTV or Youtube working- if so your internet is ok and channel problems lie elsewhere.

    Regards
