hi have just put 16/8/2016 patch on my spiderbox and all seems ok. when i go into
software update im getting upgrade and backup but not upgrade via receiver for softcams ect. is this not on this patch? i swear the older i am getting the more i forget haha.

Hi You cannot ugrade via reciever but you can backup via receiver. You upgrade via USB to receiver. I have never downloaded softcams as its done automatically as far as i am aware. Regards

I have never known a spiderbox automatically download a softcam
its usually been done from a usb stick although there was an option to download the softcam from a server too
I did one recently with the bulsat irdeto keys I posted using the remote control

looked up some of the old patches and came across this.

HI , the iks patch had the ability to upgrade by network and had a choice of four list for iptv even though the list are now the same.
the mscam patch does not have this funtion.

Hi The IKS system has network facilities for upgrading firmware,softcams, IPTV and channels lists when available. Mscam only updates softcams via its own server and IPTV list via blue button . Most other receivers have BISS and CAS menu for softcams to update via USB or entered manually via remote control. Regards

Hi I have never loaded a softcam from any USB but channels still open via the UCAS function ..so keys are either downloaded via the patch or server. IKS has the facility for downloading via network when it works. In Mscam you need to turn on the UCAS facility. RegardsOriginally Posted by echelon

Thank you Aldo for the information but unfortunately, I had a firmware version that said 2016 before I had factory format on my system and cannot be very sure that a 2015 version will suddenly replace the 2016 KIS patch. I'm only a bit confused hence my search for 16/8/2016 KIS patch. Maybe anybody can be of help here please
I unfortunately downloaded an 08/2016 CCam patch instead of 8/2016 KIS patch. Please do understand me Aldo as I'm only trying to be sure I'm doing the right thing.

Hi Very strange post here..the August 2016 patch was for Mscam and not IKS. The last IKS patch was on 19 October 2015 as far as i can remember. If you originally had IKS patch then overwrote with Mscam patch from August 2016 then it wont work if you are using IKS account. You will need to reload IKS patch and then channels should work again assuming your IKS account is still active....It dont matter which patch you put on a Spiderbox as it depends on which type of account you are going to use ie IKS or Mscam..
