    Spiderbox RIP????

I tried deleting the channels on my spiderbox 6000HD at the weekend, but after pressing the button to confirm delete, the box just turned off & my screen just gave a no signal message.
I have tried to power it up again without success. All that happens is the led on the display moves from standby to power on ( I get 4 dashes on the channel number display) before reverting back to standby again where it then repeats the process.
My TV just indicates no signal is being received. The spiderbox boot up screen won't even load.

Has anybody experienced this with their box? If so was it fixable or is it time to say farewell & move on?

Your Spiderbox might be booting up on the last channel it was on before you deleted all channels ie this is why you get ----. Remember with no channels you will get no signal on your tv. What you could try is switching on from the front of the receiver while holding down the menu button also on the front of receiver, what might happen ? is the menu will appear. All you need to do is do a factory reset and stat again. It seems worth a try! after that if no luck you will have to use recovery tool. But because you can get the 4 dashes make me think it trying to boot up on last channel which is no longer therel, if you get the menu all is well.

Thanks for the responses folks. I've had a few other issues recently, so my spider's had to take a back seat on my priority list for now...

well it took a little time, before I got round to looking at my spiderbox, but I managed to get it hooked up to an old pc today and re-flashed it as described in your links above.
Hey Presto, I've got a functioning box again.
Thanks for your guidance folks, now I just need to try and get back into things again....

Hi Its an annoying bug with the 6000...i have had it many times on a number of 6000 boxes. Have had to reflash the boxes a few times using pc function hyper terminal and a rs232 cable. Although its easy to do its still time consuming. i would recommend you keep a copy of all your user data on a usb so that you can restore as it was before the crash. If you have a motorized system then its important to have a backup copy on usb as this will save you loads of time in retuning all channels back in again etc. Regards.

I've lost the channel list many times when it crashes, I copy the channel list quite often, just an insurance policy.

Totally agree TonyO, surely a 'standard' regular procedure in all satellite tv operations is to back up your channel list frequently - I actually do mine last thing EVERY night on my TM5402HD M3!
