    Which over ear headphones.

    Ok mates,
My in ear Sony phones lost sound in the left channel. So I asked my son and he lives in a different world than me price wise. He has in ear Bose while walking the dog and over ear Beats at home. What do you recommend that's about £50 ish. I do know some will say you get what you pay for, just can't think I would notice as I am 66 and must have lost a bit of the sound band.
    Thanks.

I have Sennheiser in-ear headphones. Over ear headphones just can't get near the Bass of in-ears.
Over ear ones make you look like a dick,....or Dan dare.
    Just my opinion.

These are in ear, there a very strange shape, although the pic does not show it, they do not fall out of your ears.
Had them for 17 months, use them every night, still perfect.
My friend has the same and his went threw a full wash cycle in his jeans pocket, still perfect!
    A stagering £6.95 lot's of reviews

Soundmagic E10 in ear are the one I would suggest £30.00 from well known site.
I use these daily and for me better sound than my Sennheisers. I have not used
overear ones for many a year, and that was listening at night, they were also Sennheiser, come to think of it.

I bought a pair of the panny's suggested by Scrapman and totally agree! Excellent sound from my Ipod and don't fall out while walking or running. I find the so-called ear buds infuriating as they fall out at the slightest movement of my head. I've also got some Bose QC 15's and 25's which give superb sound but are much bulkier and carry a high price tag.

Thanks all, i have just got in from my Volunteering ( hard wet day ) so will do a bit of research from those above later.
I will see my Son tomorrow he said he will bring his Beats over the ear headphones for me to try, but like I said I won't pay the £200 or may be more just for the badge.

£200 headphones to listen to a MP3 would be the equivalent to watching VHS on a 4k TV.

If that was true it would be but he listens to Hi-res Audio :- _http://www.sony.com/electronics/hi-res-audio
Not sure where he gets it from but it's out there. That's one thing I won't be doing though. That's why I don't want to spend that much.

I don't blame you at £200, I listen to alot of talk shows, classical, 60's and 70's stuff. the last earbuds I had were around £65.00 and the bass was so much it made the voices on the talk shows deep and hard to hear.

The set before them were cheap, after a wihile the wires inside the plastic coating apeared to be twisted round inside, they would not straighten out.

The set before them had flat wires instead of round, they were to thick and heavy and kept pulling the buds out of my ears.

I've been happy with the panny's they do non of the above but as for hi-res-audio I have never heard of that (If you'll pardon the pun)

I just wouldn't spend a lot of money on subjected listening as in my OP I must have lost some freq with age. Still he earns mega money and what for him is affordable to me it's over priced. My Sony in ear phones cost about £25 it's a shame that I sat on the left cord and stood up and that was it.

Thanks anyway for the advice from all.

My Son dropped his phones off on his way to the Hitchin train station to go to his London office. I just watched " A Midsummer Night's Dream" on BBC iplayer that was recorded in the new 3D sound on my Son's Beats. So much better sound with head phones than when we watch it Monday on the TV. When the doors slammed shut well behind the actors it was like being in the room as it had depth. Not only left and right but back and front. The only problem with 3D sound is watching with TV speakers facing downwards it all gets muddled and we had to up the volume to almost twice the normal listening setting.

I like the Beats phones but out of my price range and may be too much bass.

    Looking for phones and came across these :- _https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sennheiser-Over-Ear-Cir***-aural-Premiere-Headphone/dp/B0061MYR6Y?ie=UTF8&keywords=Sennh eiser%20HD%20800&linkCode=sl1&lin kId=8b305c8fa29e6a25dd3a498edd8b0 eab&qid=1459954472&ref_=as_li_ss_ tl&s=electronics&sr=1-1&tag=tr_round_headp-21
Was worried about spending no more than £50. Also some go upwards and upwards, are they really worth the money, don't think so.

I bough some turtle beach xp510, they are in game jut now for just under £100 - they were £270 when I bought them, the sound is amazing - and you can use software on your PC to change the settings on it - IE mod the software in them. The are bluetooth/wifi/wired depending on what you want to use. They cost more that £50 and they are not over ear - but if you're looking for new headphones they are well worth a punt.

Over ear headphones - do look ridiculous though, I agree.

I went down to David Orton HiFi specialist in Hitchin, tried Bose Soundlink Around the ears phones and the sound is just to my liking. The only stumbling block is the price £199. I did ask what others he sold and pointed out a couple more but they were in the £300 + range, said out of my price range and would think about it. Still looking and thinking what I should get!

    Dan Dare here.
There is me saying that I didn't want to spend more than £50 and I went back to David Orton and brought the Bose over ear Soundlink phones. I know some of you listed phones in the affordable price range but I would kick myself if they didn't sound as good as the Bose, Always thinking I should have got them.
So thankyou all for the recommendations.

PS I did go to Currys and tried half a dozen over ear phones and there was nothing to touch the Bose.

Like all things to do with audio, it is a very personal choice, and usually it is only after you hear something really
good and then try to listen to an inferior sound that it makes sense. enjoy.

Just listened to Jimi hendrix on my Bose phones thinking back when I last listened to him must have been in 1975. I worked in a Audi / NSU / VW garage as a mechanic and opposite the garage in Baker st Enfield was a Top HiFi shop, went over to get a Shure cartridge for my turntable £60 and in the shop being demoed were a pair of electrostatic speakers £6000, could have got a top of the range Audi 100 with all the extras for that and have a lot of change. Just had a look on Google and these look like the ones :-_http://www.nintronics.co.uk/brands/martin-logan/martin-logan-montis-hgz.html?Colour=15603&Frame%20Col our=15601&gclid=Cj0KEQjw17i7BRC7t oz5g5DM0tsBEiQAIt7nLDueLP05Zd9nyI 2W9p8RWW2zE-z8cr963-DP0Ljr6CkaAt628P8HAQ

Money no object, people of Enfield.
